impact

We measure the impact of our curriculum through the following methods:

  • Observing children’s speaking and listening skills

  • Termly checking of children’s competence in all 4 skills (Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking )

  • Self-Assessment after every Unit of Study

  • Marking of written work

  • Interviewing the pupils about their learning (pupil voice).

In the future, we would like to introduce monitoring pupils’ progress through the use of Images and videos of children completing speaking and listening activities.

Madame Williams monitors the impact MFL teaching is having on the children’s learning their progress and how much is retained by continually revisiting language and checking (through the whole class as well as one-to-one activities) that the learners are able to apply the skills they have been taught, showing varying degrees of independence and confidence.

Impact is also measured through key questioning skills built into lessons, self-assessment success grids and next step grids, some summative assessments and role-play activities.
