intent
Our intention is that when children leave Handsworth, they will do so with the knowledge, understanding and skills to be able to play an active, optimistic and successful role in today’s ever-changing diverse society. We give the children the tools to enable them to have robust mental health and well-being.
Our Relationships and Sex Education enables our children to learn how to be safe and to understand and develop healthy relationships, both now and in their adult lives.
We teach about different kinds of relationships, including same-sex relationships, because it is important that our children understand the full diversity of the world they live in and be prepared for life in modern Britain.
Overall, our PSHE curriculum aims to develop high-quality life skills education essential and accessible for all children to reach their full potential. Preparing them to be global citizens now and in their future roles within a worldwide community.
